Removing 1997 NAS Body for Galvanized Frame Swap

Hi, I am helping a friend do a frame swap on his 1997 NAS. As the 1997 is an automatic trans, where is the best place to disconnect the transmission and transfer case from the controls (gear shift mechanism and transfer selector) to facilitate lifting the body off in one piece?

Take the tunnel out keep the other stuff intact.?

Thanks MIRRA, I found this on ECR’s site: http://www.eastcoastrover.com/LEDflasher.html for removing the top panel — just trying to get ahead mentally before our next work session — I would rather know what to expect than do a head scratch.

The plastic tunnel is relatively ez to remove..here's a couple of pics of the tranny, one with the body raised above it and another with it on the new frame if that helps.

Frame swaps I’ve seen have been done by lifting the body off the old chassis in one piece. That might not be practical for you.

And yes, we are lifting the body off in one piece rocky — much easier and less headache hopefully!
