I think there is an off the shelf Montero one that fits.

Not relevant to your hi-cap or maybe it is, but the NAS style is the way to go.

This was more to see if the JSQ style was still in demand. Send like they're weren't ever enough made when he was doing them. I don't need one for the 130, I have tow jar or ball option back there now.

I have the Montero style and bent it and my rear crossmember pulling a dead lr3 up a trail. I’m debating just going nas style rear since there isn’t many other choices currently

I don't think the hitch itself is the issue, its the crossmember that its bolting to and how its loaded with "regular" bolts alone. I have plans to reuse the frame tie-in that my original UK hitch had but for now I'm happy with the sleeved/backplated install I did with a buddy last weekend. A plate like this would help even out the stresses dramatically.

Yeah a backing plate would help but wouldn’t stop the problem if under heavy pressure like mine was. The Montero hitch drops down and creates a lot of leverage whereas the jsq style was straight out

I have a JSQ which is tied in using the original brackets from my Euro-hitch. So far so good, but it's only been used for a couple of easy recoveries and mounting a two-bike, swing-away carrier.

I have the set up sold on the boards, and added a Pintle tow hitch. Use the latter far more often than the receiver. The safety chain hooks are too small for my M416 so added tiny soft shackles.

I’ll be posting the M416 FS soon. Just got to get my lazy ass in gear.

This is exactly my plan when I get a chance to head back to my buddies place. The original hitch tie in would need to be notched to clear the fuel tank.
