I received this other temp sensor yesterday from ebay uk, tested in hot water at 170F... threads appears to be correct M12x1.25. The factory gauge responds normally. This sensor is supposed to fit a Nissan Terrano. That might just do the trick. I will install it soon and report

Now’s a great time to put in an accurate gauge…. Stock gauge, at least for me (and suitably high number of others on here), has been unreliable.

Any progress on your mechanical fan? I have the kit, but it doesn't look like it will fit with the PS box in the way.

Yes--I haven't done the shroud, but I have the fan. I will take some pics this afternoon.

Recap: stumpy r380, all 3” of the spacers, 17” fan—electric fan/ shroud still on (to be removed). Gonna be tight to fit the shroud, whether I move it back towards engine or not. Close to power steering, but I’ll make it fit. I’ll be takin off the electric fan of course, just sill keeping it running while I build a shroud. Loads of room, which is why it’s so extended. May end up putting a P38 steering box if I can’t get it to fit, but 98.34% sure I can get it to work.

I got a little busy at work and behind on other things, so I am hoping to do a test fit this week. I have been driving the 110 daily and just went over 1,000 miles on the 2.8 already. I wish I would have done this years ago!

The Aux Temp sensor is installed and fits great. Now that it is fully installed, the factory gauge is functional again. However the normal operating temperature range reads a little higher than when I did the testing in a cup of hot water on post #21. The gauge ends up displaying in the gap between the white and the red when the engine reaches normal operating temp. Not sure if I will keep it this way...

Hard to read but the murphy gauge was reading 174. My normal operating temperature ranges anywhere from 170 to 185.

I also installed the aux oil pressure switch and my factory oil warning light is operational again. Thread M10x1.0, switch is normally closed.

I found this one in the uk. Every other M10x1.0 switch I found from US vendors were normally open, which will not work with our dash light. Its a nice redundancy to the murphy gauge oil pressure display.

Temps are in the 30s up here in AK, expecting teens this week and we already have 5 inches of snow. I am hoping to be able to keep using the 110 as a daily driver throughout the winter.

one thing to keep in mind.... the Murphy gauge will read different from your secondary water temp gauge. I have both running. Like MountainD, I switched to mechanical fan recently. I removed my electric fan a while back... I live in NM, and since installing the mechanical fan - ambient temps have been about 68 as high. My Murphy reads about 172-182, while my secondary reads about 150. Prior to mechanical fan, I would see the murphy gauge his 192, then drop as the thermostat was fully opening. I believe this is the reason for the 2 readings I get no....the thermostat is not fully opening in cooler temps. My goal with mechanical fan was to deal with summer 100 degree ambient temps...and for pulling my pop up trailer.
