Im wanting to repaint the wheel arches and am wondering if the plastic rivets that hold the arches on can be reused or need to be cut off and replaced? Thanks for you input.

They can be. You push the pin in the center all the way through to release the rivet and then retrieve the pin. Often times they are damaged and won't work, so pick up some new ones as well. They cost very little.

I managed to pull a few out without breaking them. You can get new ones from a place like Rovahfarm pretty easily.

We always have hundreds in stock, even include them in the wheel arch replacement kit...

Use a probe to push the pin almost completely in, and then use a plastic trim tool to remove the rivet and pin at the same time. Old rivets can become brittle and are easily drilled out and replaced. I've seen more than a few trucks with the center pin replaced with small screws, and some are just attached with small nuts & bolts instead.
