Parts Hoard Clear Out..... to buy/build a new (to me) Defender

I'm back.... sorta.

As some of you know, I had to sell off my D90 during Covid after being unemployed for almost 18 months, it sucked (MASSIVELY), but that's how life works out sometimes, and now I've gotta get up, dust myself off, and get my shit together (literally and figuratively).

Anyways, I'm finally getting to a place where I can actually stomach looking through my hoard of parts I'd collected for that truck and other stuff I've ended up with and I can start thinking about getting another Defender at some point. Since it won't be another D90, no reason to keep a lot of these parts, and frankly, I just want to start over with a clean slate. So as I dig through the boxes of stuff I'll be posting stuff here to help me fund my next Defender project.

If I mis-identify anything please let me know, I've not been keeping up with this stuff for a while, and forgotten even what some of this is or what it's even worth.

Buyer pays shipping on all items, unless RURR, private helicopter or carrier pigeon can be arranged.

Here's a pile of brackets, some NAS, some Series, some V8, some who knows what. Everything has been powder coated black. As I'm looking at this, I think I've missed a few brackets, so I'll check on this and update... basically you're getting a bunch of brackets that were powder coated and put in storage

$200 for all of it.

Here's another one I have no idea how to price.

LT-85 Transmission Tunnel
PN# MUC4319

My understanding is that these haven't been available for years and are rare as hens teeth. In my searching I can only find a few sites in the UK that *might* have them, and have them listed at $800 - $1000 + overseas shipping

So how about $600 obo

Again, I don't want to gouge anyone, but I have no idea how to price this stuff and it's all to help me get another Defender, and if that's not a great cause then I dunno what is.

Last I looked into it, the oem LT85 rubber mat was nla. I bought a custom piece of upholstery from OZ, not cheap.
Looks like the oem trans tunnel could be used as a mold for fiberglass repros. Not a glass man, so can't say for sure.

I may do this, but if I do it'll be a lot different in terms of how I do ordering, custom mods, etc... the old way was far too stressful... and some folks are impatient as hell, and that's stress I don't need in my life right now.

Yeah, I get it. Some seem to be unwilling to cut people who make things by hand slack -- unfortunately our society is based more and more on instant gratification. I would love a set of sliders with tree bars for my 90 -- and I will be patient...

I certainly appreciate your willingness to be patient... I'm not done yet... just taking a needed break.

Also, this is so true. I usually quoted 8 - 12 weeks, because being a small guy in a big pond, I was at the mercy of the machine shops and laser cutters I used for parts, and when things are booming, and they're getting big orders, guess who gets stuck in the back seat.... me. That made for a delicate balance of trying to get my parts in a reasonable time frame while also not pissing them off since they were basically doing me a favor of doing my work since they liked me on a personal level because my small batch orders were nothing to them as far as revenue goes.

Also, at the time I was at the mercy of a job where I was working long hours and on 24/7 call, scheduling time to go to my shop and weld and zen out (TIG welding is how I zen) was difficult.

The final straw for me was I had a guy that called or texted me LITERALLY almost EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for the 10 weeks... I probably should have told him to fuck off, but I didn't want the internet drama of "that Psyoptic guy is dick and treats his customers like shit," I've seen enough of those posts on other forums to know how the internet works.

I'm actually finishing up one final piece for a gentleman that has been hands down my best, most understanding, most supportive customer, through the years, and this thing will hopefully be one hell of a statement piece on that D90's sweet ass, hahaha

Also, I'm going to start posting these parts individually so it's easier to keep up with things in their own thread., I think life discussion has muddied the waters of selling my parts horde.
