Original spare tire Michelin

I have an original 1996 Michelin spare tire. Don't know if there's any purists out there that want or need it, I'd rather offer it up than recycle it.

Neat tread pattern, but infortunately, a tire that old is unsafe to actually use—the rubber components break down with time alone. Jay Leno had two (brand new looking) tires on his classic Mercedes 600 series blow out on the Southern California freeway.

^ Not going to disagree here - not insinuating this would fulfil the roll of "spare" tire. If someone wants the classic look hanging of the back of their rig this looks the part.

Would a new tube help? Prob would be ok if treated like a space saver - speeds kept below 50 en route to nearest tire store.
Looks like what was oem on some RRC's.
Btw, once I was passenger in an old Mercedes sedan when the right rear tire went flat at 85 mph. The difference wasn't noticed by the driver, a young Czech woman. I suggested she pull over to see if something was wrong, so she got out of the throttle and did. I got to change it wearing a suit and tie. Lol. Neeedless to say, I was impressed with the MB, if not also the girl!
Another time, on our way to Baja, the right rear tire blew on the 109 - was an old tubed Dunlop. Damaged the wheelwell - made it see-thru. A little further down the road, the engine gave up the ghost. Took a couple days in Yuma to swap out the Chevy 6 with a NAPA rebuild in borrowed shop space with a borrowed mechanic. Kept going and had a great trip.
