Seems to be a concern that the old standby copper / aluminum stuff could encourage galvanic corrosion.

I think it’s a solution to the metallic versions being a marine environmental issue as well. From what I’ve read, they’re formulated to a thicker consistency to prevent washout and with higher levels of anticorrosive additives. I’ve used some on the 90 in a few spots but can’t really speak to its effectiveness - maybe in ten years. It can still carbonize so I’d stick with copper hardware or high heat antiseize on exhaust applications.
