Looks like they took the styling queues from the ye olde 79 series station wagon. Which has good looks. I did wish the new L663 took more styling from the L316/older defenders. Interior is laid out well. Steering wheel controls are a bit busy but I'm sure its fine. Flappy paddles on the wheel are always good to have. Toyota got their act together on traction control with the GX460/LC200 so I assume this has has good or better traction control. Rear locker is cool too.
Overall I'm not impressed once you get into the numbers. Despite having a larger tire, the approach, breakover, and departure angle are about what my D5 is at normal ride height (in off road height, the L462 takes it on 100% and the L663 is far superior). I know the ladder chassis and solid rear axle are key selling points but rover and jeep have proven full independent is fine. Towing capacity goes to CRAP with the higher luxury packages. Power is ok I guess. Once again lacking behind the P360 and P400 options. 3rd row is not in all packages. Now that I have a family, that 3rd row has become very convenient.
Either way, all those who want it won't be able to afford it. I just checked auto trader and it seems like the prices of the GX460 are between $62k and $74k. So I suspect it'll start around ~$75k and go up from there. Of course that assumes there isn't any "market adjustments" which dealers have been enjoying for the past few years.
See below link for the press release. Specs are at the end. I'm sure there will be tons and tons and tons of aftermarket to increase power, off road angles, clearance, etc. I'll be interested on what the overland package offers vs. the standard packages.
