Need: New front left matte black wheel arch

So, 6 weeks ago I spoke a guy (won't say his name) at Lucky about an order I had made a year prior for a set of wheel arches. The initial order was for a complete set of matte black arches. They shipped them to me timely as usual and then I piled them in my storage along with other parts to be used at a later time. A year later (6-8 weeks ago) I pulled them out and unwrapped them for the first time to find that one (front left) arch was gloss black. Of course I wouldn't have thought after a year had past that Lucky8 would have returned them or helped me out so I set out on a different course to just find the one I needed. In the meantime, I called Lucky8 just to see if they had one and then when they pulled my account they saw that I had bought a set last year. I told the guy my story and also said I wasn't expecting anything. He told me that it wasn't a big deal and to just send the gloss one back since he saw on my file that they indeed sent me the wrong one and that they would just replace it. So, I was delighted of course and packed it up and shipped it back. That was 6 weeks ago. I waited a few weeks before I started calling them. For the past 3 weeks I've called many many times and have spoken to the same guy each time. He knows me by name now is how frequently I speak to him. Problem is, it's one excuse after another with the location of where my arch is. I won't even start on all the excuses but bottom line is..... I still don't have it and I was told they had it, it had shipped, etc... So, what have I been doing the past handful of days.....calling the shit out of them. I call upwards of 10 plus times a day and at all different hours and the phone never gets answered. I've left voicemails as well and I'm about done wasting my time with them. Aside from them wasting my time for the past 6 weeks, I find it seriously fucked that they kept dragging this on so long without any call backs that have been promised for some time. I've bought a bunch from them in the past and I can say this is my last endeavor with them. They can keep the gloss new arch I sent back and just lose any business from me moving forward. Total Bullshit!

Now that I'm done venting about how shitty that is/was.......I still need a front left matte black wheel arch. Since I'm only looking for one, where's the best place that will have them without question? Or if you can help me with the part number that would be great. I can't seem to find it.

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on that. Some say it takes years to fade to correctly match, some say months, some say they never truly match...etc... I would say worst case scenario I go that route but if matte black is made in sets then singles can be bought. I had a website saved awhile back specifically for individual location arches but have since misplaced the site. I'll contact sp4x4 and see if William will sell me one out of a set. In the meantime, I'm hoping someone lands me the part number and location so I can order it up.

**Am I loosing my mind or was there a post about arches fading that I replied to and then once I submitted my comment.....the previous posters message was gone. Very strange..... Maybe I'm loosing my mind...lol."

I'm certain that we didn't delete the thread. Not sure what happened, though. I don't remember any of this. Maybe Dave remembers?

I try to stay out of disputes between members and vendors unless there is a consistent pattern of customer complaints (Dale Knepp, Dominic Perodeau, etc.)

No big deal. I know there was a post prior that just said that I could use my gloss arch and it will eventually fade to matte. It was a simple comment and not too important but it initiated my second comment so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy reading something that wasn't there. Maybe prior poster posted and immediately deleted it. Who know and who cares really.

I wasn't starting this post initially to blast Lucky but more looking for a new matte arch. Obviously I'm pissed at how they have just fallen off the face of the earth but for me I just moved on once I had help locating a new matte arch which someone pointed me to yesterday. I just won't be wasting my time calling Lucky any longer and they can keep the gloss arch because I don't want to deal with them.

I will say this though, I find it extremely fucked that a company like Lucky is not answering their phone, calling me back, has my arch 6 weeks without response, etc... I own my own business and have for many years and if I treated clients like that then I would be bagging groceries at the Food Lion because I'd be out of business. (No offense if you are a grocery bagger, we need them too!).

We can conclude this thread with a success that I've located the part I'm looking for and appreciate all the help!

Cheers!

I deleted my comment after re-reading your post. I had initially responded that the gloss would fade to matte anyways, but then realize you had already sent yours back to L8. No conspiracy here!

ZG playing in the dark web....

So, I have a related question about mine...
My arches are from a '94( I think) but one of the rears looks like something spilled on it.
I've cleaned all of them with Back to Black but this one still looks like this.

Can someone post pics of the new matte arches after they've faded?
Are you happy with them?

Same thing happen to me, ordered aschoft transmission from Lucky 8 few years back and shop told me that it has wrong front pump housing so frame mounting brackets are not lining up with frame bolt holes, Wasted $1500 and Lucky 8 says they can't do anything about it and now blocking my phone number. Will never buy again from them.

Interesting.....

I got my internal SD roll cage from Lucky8, and couldn’t happier with the price and the fact that I couldn’t even find the exact PN I wanted, described it to him?’c got the shipment, and was happy to see that he got it right.

I do seem to remember something negative about them from long ago, but I can’t comment. Don’t remember any specifics.

Jeff:
Mine started out glossy and faded in the sun to matt. You'll have to wait until tomorrow for pictures if you want them. #damthingisn'tstartingagainafterfirstcoldday.
