Mystery Code 26 from my RRC

I hope a Classic question in this forum won't be a faux pas. I've got a code popping up intermittently that I can't figure out.

26 is supposed to be a Jaguar 14CUX only code. I found this on a UK site, but, I don't know how or if it applies.

"26 - Very lean mixture This indicates a very lean mixture, or a misfire. Possible causes are a faulty low or out of range lambda sensor or an ignition fault causing a misfire. This code is used on the JAGUAR version of the 14CUX ECU and is generally not listed under the Range Rover fault codes."

The car is an RRC with a 4.6 running a Disco 4.2 ECU. Replaced fuel filter, replaced stepper motor and swapped out the MAF. I also did the spray and pray check for air leaks.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Abel

Other than the code thrown, how is it running?

And pretty sure you mean a RRC LWB 4.2 ECU.

Also saw this: This code (26) is used on the JAGUAR version of the 14CUX ECU and is
generally not listed under the Range Rover fault codes.

Term "Generally" with Land Rover means high probablity!

It runs great!

You are probably right about the ECU. I am not certain what the previous owner put in it.

I am going to go ahead and replace the fuel pump to eliminate that as a possible cause. Seems unlikely, but, better safe than sorry considering how much time I spend in remote areas solo.
