Likely going this route for my RHD to LHD conversion on a 110 HCPU. Anyone actually have the MOD Puma Dash upgrade that can speak to its quality or lack thereof?
it’ll have more rigidity..
Let me know if you want help!Hmm. Good to know and thanks for the feedback.
I’ve got it in boxes on the shelf so no turning back now. I opened / inspected everything..quality seemed ok maybe a little flimsier than I’d hoped, but thinking once it’s all bolted together and in place it’ll have more rigidity..
It’ll be a while until I get it installed but will definitely give my thoughts when it’s all done..
Definitely building to keep, and would have rather had the orig rover dash setup; as I both appreciate the simplicity and originality of what was present from the factory. I got yanked around so much by people that said they had the dash bits, that i just threw in the towel and went for a sure thing with MOD. In the end Im telling myself it was the right decision (since I already bought the stuff). Thinking with the Puma AC setup and being installed in a truck cab that It should be pretty chilly in the summertime.I’ve installed a few and they feel very cheap, but it’s also a cheaper alternative to a legit LHD dash. If the vehicle was already LHD, the MOD puma dash would be a huge downgrade.
Every one I have done has also included their ac kit. The ac is comically bad when coupled with their dash. It also has no provisions for footwell vents when using the heat. If you’re building to sell and want to do it as cheaply as possibly while still being able to advertise that it is LHD and has ac, MOD is the way to go
My biggest issue with my MoD aircon is the complete and utter lack of insulation and sealing so anything cold blowing in... goes right out. Seeing that you're building from scratch that shouldn't be an issue for you.Definitely building to keep, and would have rather had the orig rover dash setup; as I both appreciate the simplicity and originality of what was present from the factory.
