As many of you know, Dave Sweetapple passed away suddenly on August 8, 2024, at the young age of 58, leaving an unimaginable void in the hearts of all who knew him. Dave’s infectious laughter, sharp wit, and endless generosity were his trademarks - traits that made him unforgettable.

As some of you also know, Dave’s love for Land Rovers was more than just a hobby; it was a passion that connected him to a community he helped shape and grow. Through Vermont Rovers, he created a space where people could come together, not just to talk about vehicles, but to build friendships, share laughs, and create lifelong memories. His work as a columnist for Rovers North further contributed to his deep connection with the Land Rover community.

But Land Rovers weren’t Dave’s only passion. His love for music was profound, and he expressed that through his involvement in several bands where he showcased his musical talent. Music was more than just a pastime for Dave, it was a part of his soul, another way he brought joy into the lives of those around him.

Behind all of this, Dave’s greatest love was his wife, Robin. For thirty-two years, they were inseparable -soulmates in the truest sense. Their bond was one of those rare and beautiful connections that we all aspire to find. Now, Robin is left facing an overwhelming and heartbreaking reality without Dave by her side. As if the emotional pain weren’t enough, she now faces mounting financial burdens with no one to lean on.

In honor of Dave’s memory and the love he shared with Robin, we are setting up a GoFundMe to help relieve her of some of the financial pressures she faces. This is a chance for all of us, those who knew and loved Dave, to step in and show Robin that she isn’t alone in this. More than anything, it lets Robin know that Dave’s kindness, generosity, and spirit live on through the people who care for her.

Please consider donating to support Robin in this time of unimaginable grief and hardship. Whether you can give a lot or a little, no amount is too small.
