LONDON – Land Rover has promoted Massimo Frascella to Design Director as per Frascella’s social media profiles, including LinkedIn.
Frascella is taking over from Gerry McGovern, who is taking on a new position as Chief Creative Officer for Jaguar Land Rover, according to a report Auto & Design.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Frascella became Land Rover’s Design Director in October. He was previously the brand’s creative director.

The Italian executive joined Land Rover from Kia in 2011 and became Automotive News Europe Rising Star in 2017.

McGovern, an Englishman, was named Head of Land Rover Design in 2006. He has been credited with reviving the brand with models such as the best-selling Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. Its latest model is the revival of the legendary Defender off-roader.
