LR4 Hitch stuck

Used the factory hitch on my LR4 for the first time in a while. Seems to be stuck installed. Anyone have any ideas to get it to release? I can pull and turn the knob but just not enough... Does the pin in the rear freeze and have to be persuaded? TIA.

I fear it might be too far gone and you’ll have to wreck it Frank.

Try spraying with PB Plaster or similar, wait a while and tap with a hammer to get the pin to release. Mine's seized up before too.

Small pin is a drill or hammer punch after clipping. The larger pin is a punch and hammer. Air hammer would work too and some sort of rust penetrant is probably a good idea.

i tested it too before i used it, the pin snapped in place as it should have...just wont release. ill spray it and tap on the rear pin a bit to try and loosen it. Appreciate the advice.
