You should consider just getting an AWD Toyota sienna. Pointless to spend $$$ on a big SUV to drive 2 miles to a station most of the time and have the odd trip to a vacation house. Only other rec is any version of a Tahoe/Yukon or a Tacoma/Frontier with a higher roof bed cap.

The obvious choice is to just use the 110 when you’re needing space. If it’s out due to corrosion concerns then a beater of the above vehicles is my rec.

It sounds more like you want one of the mentioned vehicles more so than need one.
Tahoe/Yukon are being considered too. Trying to talk my wife in to a Tacoma/Frontier (so much "chrome" on all teh frontiers I see though). The "want" is more driving the "what" but regardless I need something bigger than a golf and less ridiculous than a 110. With respect, I can't consider a Sienna. My wife would also kill me. - another one out of left field that I saw today on the road was a Jeep Commander. Yeah they didn't sell well, but they're not expensive now and would fit most of my needs.

I know what you’re saying, but a beater passenger van like that is the most useful ride around. Infinite space, decent economy, cheap insurance, and total anonymity. You will feel zero attachment to it and will not care about throwing it away when it’s time of usefulness is over and a repair outweighs the cost of another one.

This! We have an AWD Sienna..Its hands sown the best vehicle Ive ever driven in snow, tons of space, and near bulletproof. It's been wrecked countless times by nanny's over the years and it has dents and scratches all over. I gotta say I hate it, but its utility function is pretty hard to beat.

Bingo! Nobody wants one, but everybody needs one. Throw some air springs on the back end and the boat feel goes away. They’re like max stats items in rpgs that no one wants to use because they’re pink.

For van. Go 5 banger diesel sprinter if you can find one not Swiss cheese. I love love love my 4 banger Tacoma, but they are used what they cost new. Might be able to pick up a 23 on discount, although the 4 bangers (up to 23 are 2TR-FE which is indestructible) are uncommon.

I will sell you an RRC LWB if you want.
