Looking for a fuel tank.

Looking for a fuel tank. I have a 1989 Defender 90 ROW, 2.5L TD. My tank stated slowly leaking last month. I wasn't to concerned about it, wanted to wait till better weather to pull it. Well a few days a go I noticed fuel leaking out of the garage and into the driveway, the tank decided it wanted attention and wanted it now. I pulled it out and haven't found the leak but it appears to be at the bottom covered by the skid plate. I planed to clean, weld and reseal the tank but now I think that will be a short lived fix.
Looking for a new or low time good shape tank.
I haven't found any US dealers that sell the tank, If you know of any I would appreciate the info. I could order it from LRdirect but I wonder what shape it will be in when it gets here.
Thanks.

Take it to a tank repair shop and let them take a look. A repair and a reseal should hold you for many years if done right.

I would advise against a re-seal.

The metal tanks are a two-piece construction with a giant pinched seam around the perimeter, halfway up the height of the tank. The seam typically rusts through over time which is where the leaks develop. An epoxy sealer might resolve the issue briefly, but it won't stop the rust from continuing and you're going to be faced with the same problem in time.

As others have asked, what style tank is it? I've bought both rear and side tanks from Rovers North in the past and haven't broken the $300 mark.

Should be in good condition. It comes DHL express air, which means it comes fast. The less time it is in the hands of the carrier the better. I would prefer an air package from the UK over a ground package that crawls its way across the US from one coast to another. For $190 shipped I would buy a new tank and be done with it.

The fuel tank arrived yesterday. It arrived with no damage! It was packaged very well with an obvious attempt to ensure it make the trip across the pond safely. It was in its original box, protective foam was around the tank's seam, tank was wrapped in bubble wrap and tightly fitted into box. The box bottom had a additional layer of protection applied and the whole box was tightly wrapped in plastic and taped.
The tank its self looks well make and good quality.
It arrived 7 days from when I ordered it.

Im not quite ready to install yet. While the tank is out I have been cleaning, repairing corrosion and rust and undercoating.

Soon.
