Looking for a left hand drive 110 Tithonus within the US. Preferably one that is drive-able, but that hasn't been fully restored or completely upgraded.

Thank you!

You could buy a RHD Tithonus a lot cheaper and then convert it to LHD if you can't find one.
Haven't seen many LHD ones FS lately.

Hi thanks for the thought and probably a good idea. Do you happen to know a ballpark typical conversion costs. Limited knowledge on the subject.

I wouldn't, but there are those who do this frequently that might see this and chime in.
Also have you driven a Tithonus?
They come with a 12J diesel that is dangerously slow.
We are in the process of converting a RHD Tithonus to a Chevy 250 engine.

There are better trucks out there than the tiths now for the same or less money.

For years they were kind of the holy grail of row imports because they were well maintained and you could easily slap in a TDI. Now however you can get a TDI truck that doesn't come with the ridiculous MOD wiring, without the special height, And without all the other military-specific stuff that usually makes it harder to upgrade anything on the vehicle.

Yes, the one i drove had a 2.5 naturally aspirated engine (would have swap in a TDI) in really good shape though all things considered, but is a bit on the high end price was for what i'm looking for. For the time being I'm just looking for a grocery getter / fly fishing rig / weekend warrior home depot runs, etc.... Would slowly upgrade over time as funds become available.

Speaking of love, I’ll drive my 2.5na until it blows, something about taking a leisurely drive in the country, freeway, city streets........etc. etc. etc. :)

Small engines are manageable if you know when you need to get on it and avoid roads where everyone is driving 80+mph. I daily drove, with a 35 mile each way highway commute for a year and a half, a 2.25 gas 90 before I had it converted to a 200tdi. I averaged the same speeds with both engines. The 200 was easier for highway speed management and acceleration entering the motorway. The 2.25 topped out at about 70 but struggled passed 65. The 200 could have gone faster than 70 easy.

An NA 2.5 diesel would be fine for what you describe your uses. Get one. Drive it for three years. The flavor of the month for engine swaps will have changed by then and you’ll probably be able to get some three year old swanky engine conversion pullout for half off. Or just be happy in the slow lane.

I wouldn't call a 2.5NA "dangerously slow". I drove one from SE Texas to Tacoma, WA. I wouldn't take one on the interstates but take the US highways and secondary roads and you'll be fine.

I couldn't even keep up with traffic on the Westside highway in NYC which is always heavy traffic! To be fair, most of them are so worn out at this point, it probably isn't a fair comparison to one that was actually maintained.

I drove those 2.5 NA 12J diesels for years and on the highway in commuter traffic they are dangerously slow.
Merging and changing lanes is hazardous because they can't accelerate fast enough to not be a danger.
We use to joke and say after I pulled out, "a car 5 miles back almost rear-ended me".

All are RHD. But they have that fancy spare tire mount underneath.
...that looks like it would be a dandy place for another fuel tank ;) I've had mine for almost 3 years now and aside from having to replace the worn out power steering box, it's been great. The non-turbo 3.9 is traffic compatible here on the flat(er) bits at roughly 1,000ft of "elevation". It's not particularly happy when it's cold and >10k ft but that's the rare occasion.

This one did not make reserve on BAT or eBay. It has the 200TDI. I have no knowledge of the truck or the owner personally. You may still be able to contact the seller.
