LED Light Stopped Working?

The right side wing is all hooked up and working correctly.

Shifted over to the left side and tested all the lights with a test circuit, all good.

Hooked up the LED position light (tested as working 30 seconds before) and nothing is happening. There is 12v to the power side. Good connections. I just installed the ground, and it is working. I even grounded it directly to the battery just to be sure. Nothing.

What would cause an LED lamp to just decide not to work? Am I missing something, or did it just fry itself?

Awe... just figured it out. It was just a cheapo LED bulb insert. I think it got moisture in it. Not sure why it was working a few seconds before, but I have confirmed that the socket works as is intended, just need a new bulb.

Any socket, any bulb... put a smear of dielectric grease on the contacts. For old contacts, use something to file/smooth off surface corrosion first.

Something strange going on.

I bought some standard bulbs, 12v, 21W, but they get really hot, and after a few minutes they blow the fuse.

After comparing them to the rear lights, I don't really know that they are getting too hot, but it is odd that the fuse blows. Makes me wonder about the LED light, and why it may have died.

Any ideas?

Why would my two front parking lights have this metal tab pulled up like this, unlike any of the other light sockets? These must be ground connections, right?
