So my wife surprised me on Christmas with a copy of ICON: The Official Story Of The Series Land Rover And Defender.
Crazy story. She went to purchase it and quickly learned that it is not yet available anywhere in the United States. So, just decided what the heck, and emailed the head of Marketing at Land Rover in the UK. He connected her to the head of PR and after a bunch of back and forth emails, he said he could send 1 copy to our local Rover dealership. A few days later he said the book had arrived at the dealership and that she should go pick it up ... she gets to the dealership and they say "Oh our owner took that book home, we assumed it was for him." She was so bummed and explained the whole story. They made a few calls and the book was brought back to the dealership and given to my wife. Christmas morning I am SO surprised to find this under the tree - also so thankful for my wife's thoughtfulness and for the Land Rover crew who made it all happen.
