Gutter Kit Pics

Hi All,

Can anyone post some gutter kit pics?
I’ve finally got my 90 back and Badger GKII top is on. Been gone a long time and now finally got 90 back and can enjoy it again.
But I have a pretty large gap in the B pillar that I assume isn’t right. I would think the corners should be tight together? Or is this gap normal? I feel like there are some gaps that are not correct.

Also, does the fabric of the top tuck into the gutter kit on the horizontal rail above the door?

Thanks all,
Peter

your door seal is installed incorrectly. it should fit fully into the corner of the gutter kit.

it also looks like the gutter kit is installed to tightly to the door. there needs to be some room for the door seal to squish.

yes the top sits in the horizontal channel above the door. if the canvas was tight to fit, thoroughly wet it and try again, then let it dry fully installed and do not touch it for a week.

Thanks!
Yeah I thought the seal wasn’t correct as well. I didn’t put the top on. I’ll have to loosen things up and see if I can get the gutter kit to come together more in the corner. The installer made some comment about the gutter kit being hard to get in. That they needed pull on the windshield to get it to go.
The doors themselves aren’t hung very well and are exaggerating the seal issue.
I assume the gutter kit would make a tight fit at the corner and not have a big gap. I don’t see a lot of play in the bolts to close that gap though. I can see some horizontal play left, but if it’s vertical that’s needed, I’m not sure how to achieve that.

if they needed to move the windshield to install the gutter kit, either your defender is completely out of whack (accident damage?) or they simply don't know what they are doing.

Peter you can always give me a call with any questions or issues with the Badger gutter kit and top installation. I just looked at the photos of the gutter /door seal install and think that is was poorly done. I have never had problems with installing the gutter kit on customers vehicles. The problems are very simple to fix.

No that is totally normal.. You can adjust the defender windshield easily.. hell you have to move the windshield to square the doors on a station wagon.. totally normal.. I've had a badger II with Gutter kit for about 13 years now.. comes off when I throw the hard top on (adjust windshield there too..)

your top fits nice and tight, thats great.. oh and I start with putting the door seal corner you are showing in place first and then working the seal from there. the GK needs to line up with the door seam (mostly anyway.. you have to play with the adjustment.
