Ford is going to start using the Land Rover engines in the F150... which are supplied to Land Rover from Ford.

In the mean time, Land Rover will continue to keep making stupid decisions.

Some times I think it should just go the way of Saab.

Hey, hey there - No need to bring Saab into it!

We still are enjoying our 2004 9-3 convertible - just turned 28,000 miles.

Took it to Switzerland with us and it was a blast to drive in the Alps.

And no problem getting parts / service for it!

Brought it back with us as well - still a fun car.

Shame they went away.

A 1987 Saab 900s in really great condition, two-door, red.... that was the first car I bought with my own money. We owned a 1997 900 Turbo 4-door, and a 9-3 Turbo wagon. Loved them all.

Oh, and by the way. They are making a new Bronco as well.

Any bets it will actually resemble the old Bronco and that it will still come out before the next Defender?

I thought the Ingenium engines were all Jaguar/Land Rover. And that is the engine family that Ford is buying for the F-150.

It will look nothing like what it should look like. It will still sell though.

It still amazes me that the only big change that Ford has ever done to the Expedition/Navigator is the radio (Microsoft to QNX based) and a slight modification to the grill. We like ours but damn if I wanted the same model with some updates what am I getting besides new car scent and a better radio.

I'm guessing the BRonco going to be built off the Ranger platform. Which still exists in the ROW.

Well if we look at what Ford has done historically in the years since selling JLR to Tata....

They probably ripped the plans for the "next" Defender off the LR drawing board as they were leaving and it will basically be a preview of the Defender (see Ford Explorer vs. RR L405).

Should be interesting.

Not to worry though. There are enough car journalists that will forget that little piece of automotive history and pretend that LR copied Ford.

ie Lincoln Continental and Navigator concept with a clear Jaguar grill. Read a couple reviews and that similarities were either ignored or denied.

That's one of the first things I noted about the newer Fords that were released after they bought LR. And for a while there, the concept drawings of the Defender and the Bronco could not be distinguished.
