Fiberglass roof repair

Hinge area on fiberglass lift gate has broken — I do have to piece that tore away.

Any tips or known resources for repairing a fiberglass top, successfully? There are some other areas on the top I have that need attention.

Go to a West Marine type place for plastic/glass fiber type repairs?

Plan B might be stocking up on replacement parts.

Are you talking a NAS fiberglass hardtop?

If so - those are brittle, fragile and will only get more-so over the years.

The fiberglass tops, like Rocky suggested, are more akin to a boat than anything traditionally automotive.

I'd check out a local boat repair shop if you want to pay to have this done. Otherwise DIY route is a simple fiberglass repair/patch kit.

It is an NAS top. Definitely past it’s useful life for all sorts of reasons: Sun exposure, work hardening at stress points, etc… I am going with the fiberglass repair / parch kit
