Anyone use the Exmoor Trim Leather Retrim Kits? Ive had all over the board experience with Exmoor ranging from pretty shitty to outstanding. Wondering where these stand..

Thanks

For that money, I would seriously consider jumping all of the way up to an entire replacement seat set, as that way you at least get new frames and adjustment mechanisms (and/or upgrade to the more recent Puma-style seats, which most people find more comfortable). My D110's seats have been retrimmed (in cloth not leather) in what I believe is Exmoor, and the retrim fabric is perfectly fine, but the rust and clunky mechanisms on the old seat frames irk me to no end.

Alternatively, the "value" option would be to buy the replacement foam inserts, and have your local upholstery shop cover them for you.

I've done cloth, not leather. The cloth ones were easy enough. Research and use the proper adhesive, it makes all the difference. You will need a utility knife to make some adjustments to the foam. Also be very careful with the headrest areas. If you overstretch or pull too much the crimped protectors (isolators around the headrest holes) will pull out of the material or worst case I can see it being possible to tear the cover. I would expect the leather to be very similar to the cloth, just based on construction.

Yeah, Ive redone mine twice, once in a used set of cloth, another in the Exmoor Vinyl with pretty good results. Speaking more to the actual material quality of the Exmoor Leather.

New seats are like 3x the cost so I think thats out for me.

Just opinion - the Exmoor foams we've seen through the shop are far too soft. Short lifespan and bottom out after only a few years of regular use. Original foams in good shape when you can find them, or $$ aftermarket seats (ScheelMann) if you can afford them and they fit the configuration (no pickup cabs or rear bulkheads). Steer clear of Corbeau, Sparco, Recaro and other non tip-up seats. Puma take off are your best bet when you can find them, while we can find them...
