Hello.
Mine is a 1995 NAS Defender 90, originally with a 3.9, now with a very strong-running 4.6 from RPI in the UK.
I need to replace the charcoal canister/purge valve unit (don't hate me; I'm unfortunately in California.). OEM unit is either $$$ or not available.
I am fairly sure canisters and purge valves are not necessarily critical to any specific engine as long as they can be made to mount. Maybe the engine displacement is a factor, not sure. What may be more important are securely connecting the 2 or 3 air connectors and the one electrical connector.
Anyone have thoughts about what alternative canister (e.g. generic like Dorman from Amazon) units might work please?
