Drivers side front half axle replacement

Is it possible to use a slide hammer with the c collar gizmo I bought and used on the passenger side. I now have a leak on the left side. If there is no room or ability to use the slide hammer to remove the half axle what is the way to accomplish this ?

To get it out of the diff? I use a hammer and a punch. Make sure you snip the end off of the breather, it’s probably clogged

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to sort out if the drivers side is harder to do than the right side.
I cut the end off the breather tube when I did the passenger side.
I put more fluid in it recently and would like to put it off till spring. The lr3 is my winter driver and I am afraid things might not go smoothly.
