Defender starved of petrol

I have a 1984 Defender 90 with a 2.25 petrol engine and a Weber carb. The engine started cutting out. It felt like it was being starved of fuel. I had the carb rebuilt and I fitted a new electric fuel pump. I also changed the filter cartridge in the bowl beside the pump. I’m trying to figure if I have a defective vapor separator. I also changed the coil, distributor cap and rotar , and plug leads recently.
Any suggestions truly appreciated.

Is it cutting out at idle or under load?

It will run for a short bit until it runs out of fuel in the carb. The fuel pump is still running.!Pumping the accelerator might prolong the running for a few more seconds but it will die out

Did you take out the spark plugs to see what condition they’re in? If you do, take a picture of them and send it so we can check it out

this seems to be your issue no? is the needle clogged or sticking? float jammed up?
