Well, I'm tardy ...

The Dash Dock arrived last week and was easy to install despite having been dropped and stepped on.

One of the mounting tabs was bent, but a little gentle vise adjustment and all is well :)

Thanks Samer!

Dropped and stepped on? Was that something that happened after you received it, or did it arrive that way? Please let me know.

Oh, the box looked a little sad when it arrived...I did take a couple of photos but it ended up okay so I seem to have deleted them.

Anyway...

Oh, and as obvious as it may be, I'd suggest a line in the instructions to install the end plugs before final mounting to the vehicle.

Those plugs fit GREAT, but do require more whacking than I'd like to do with it installed.

A nice piece of 2x4 on the floor end and a plastic / deadblow mallet make easy installation of the plugs. :)

I need to take this up with Fedex. How was everyone else's experience with the condition of the package been? Please let me know.

Unfrozen: Thanks for the pictures, I really appreciate it. Good point on the end caps, I'll add it to the instructions as suggested.

Now time for you to add some accessories!

Ready for a second batch of the Dash Dock. Taking names and deposits for those interested.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Why not just ship them with ends preinstalled? Question for those with these installed—my only hesitation is with visibility. I removed my on-dash gauge pod as it got in my way when trying to see my front corner (CO has some tight, tree laden trails where you barely miss trees on hairpin turns). Does it impair your visibility (bar itself—I can reposition accessories...)? I’ve never seen an installed one in person, but they are intriguing and look to be of great quality of construction.

Sorry, I thought I posted pics of the Dock. It is awesome and I definitely recommend it to everyone to mount all your electronic accessories!

Although there are 4 oval slots on the dock (2 on top, 2 on the bottom) for running wires through, I don't ship the dock with the end installed, to give you the option of running wires through both ends. They are easier to install than remove after the fact. You will more than likely destroy them while removing them.

Once installed, the gap between the bottom of the dock and the top of the dash is 1/2". Hope that helps.

Makes total sense!!
