Clutch pedal box seal (lower)

So I'm getting ready to replace all of my clutch hydraulics, and I figured now would be the time to replace the clutch pedal with the newer version I've got with the lighter spring. I decided to order a new gasket just to do everything correctly.

It looks like the new style gakset is adhesive backed. Is that right? Or is that yellow stuff just holding the foam together?

If it is adhesive, do put the glue side towards the pedal box or the bulkhead?

Yes that's adhesive backed I would say. My preference (and what I did)would be to stick it to the pedal box then you can move make any fine adjustments without it stuck to the bulkhead. Plus you know the seal will be in the right place, if you stick it to the bulkhead you could potentially place it off center.

Wouldn't some 3m dum dum be better?

.

I'm not sure. Maybe? I guess it depends on what kind of shape the bulkhead is in. If there is some surface rust, there might be some pitting after I clean it up, I guess. In that case dum dum might seal better. If it's nice and smooth, I might like the gasket, in case I have to take it apart again, there will be less mess, and if I get lucky the gasket will still be good.

I've got a couple of more parts coming from the dealer today, so hopefully this weekend I can take it all apart and see what I have to work with.

I think I think I've got enough parts that I can completely assemble the new master and pedal before I even remove the old pedal box.
