I know most of us buy our trucks because we love them but I'm sure some buy for other reasons. I know the crazy prices paid for NAS trucks the past couple of years and the huge dollars paid for "full" restoration trucks has to come from a more affluent buyer.
Hagerty just posted details on the classic car market and it's clear it is now in a downward spiral. Looks like the 2015 peak may not be back for some time.

I just wonder if this is why I have noticed since the start of 2017 that the classifieds ads aren't filled with freshly imported Rovers like the previous few years.
Defender market slowing along with the overall classic car market?

Maybe some of these guys with more money than sense are realizing they are spending 100k on a glorified farm tractor that is about as a reliable as the tsa.

I agree, prices are leveling. 200tdi's in 2015 would have fetched significantly higher multiples had they been legal for import.

I doubt that REAL classic cars are taking much of a hit, your Benz gull wing or that Shelby GT350 you run to the store in are probably pretty safe price wise. It will just take a couple of months to move one not a couple of days. IMHO Rovers are not classic cars, the Series trucks and the Defenders are grey market cars that have seen a good amount of market interest. This interest, because of the neeto factor, will wax and wain. In 2015 people were buying junk Defenders, and paying 10-20K for them, that needed multiple tens of thousands of dollars worth of work. Now they are showing up on Craigs list for 7K to 12K and sitting there. There have been several on CL in Colorado that have popped up time and time again.

I think NAS Defenders will always be sought after. There's only so many and they're numbered.
