Carling Conversion

I'm Armchair building some carlings switches up as my D90 is doesn't currently live where I live. Replacing the 3 switches on the wiper cover and ordered what I needed from Mud. I have the wiring diagrams, but they are not matching up to what I have. Thanks.

Hazard (on-off) - This will likely be the easiest as my LR switch and wiring is intact. I have pinout so likely straight forward.

Interior Lamp (on-off-on) - this one is where I have some questions. I have 2 black and a purple wire on mine, which doesn't seem to match the diagram. Is the up position for the interior lights to be on, and the lower for the gauge lights to be on? Trying to figure out if mine does what is intended and how to make the swap.

Rear Heated Window (on-off) - 2 wire (white and white/green) This seems like a cut and dry trigger to the relay.

If you have done this conversion, did you simply tap the gauge bulbs (red/white) for the illum wire?

Regarding Interior Lamp (on-off-on)
On mine, I found that it was a three-position switch, where up and down were both off, and center was on.
Normally either up or down would be "door on", but mine doesn't have door switches. I rearranged the connector pins so up/down were on/off, consistent with other switches.

I found one of my black wires wasn't actually black, but a very dark blue/grey. It was ground.

The BS wire appeared as BW on mine. Someone suggested the slate had faded to white. This wire was switched ground to the lamp.

My wiring at the lamp had corroded to dust.

Thanks for the input @erover82 ,that's makes sense now.

Haynes manual confirmed that. The switch is supplying the ground either via the door switches or direct to ground. I was tied up with purple being some sort of a feed.
