My other thread got locked down, but I figured I’d just post my outcome.
As I was waiting for the new sender to show up I read the install information again and realized I may have screwed up by using a small amount of Teflon tape on the sender. Took it off and made it real tight and all seems good. No leaks and it’s turning on and off as it should. The problem was compounded by the fact it is rarely needed and did work sporadically. Didn’t realize I had a problem until taking it on the beach a few times.
The fact that sadly I mostly drive it around town was the reason it never really exposed the problem.
