The Battery and Alternator are new and were installed 2 years ago.
I noticed my battery light stayed on and the gauge (dash gauge) was showing around 13-14 volts. I thought maybe the glow plugs were still cycling for some reason.
I stopped at the store for about an hour and read a few threads on a potential cause/issue. On my return drive the gauge stayed just above 12 volts.
It was about 20-30 minute drive home and about a few block away I noticed for the first time that my temp gauge was a 250.
I figured that my new alternator or new battery had an issue or loose wire but the temp gauge has thrown me for a loop as I am not a mechanic. That and my hood is stuck closed.
What should I look for first besides a tow 90 miles to my mechanic. Or a short drive to a garage in South Jersey to set me straight.
Thank you,
