with 255/85 seemingly getting rarer, 285 may be the only way to go down the road. My KMs are really only half worn, so hopefully they have many more miles in front of them.

Rare? No not really they are available at tire rack... BFG does a run the switches to other sizes then does a run when supply gets low. Pretty much just supply and demand.

There are 2 models in 255/85 at TR. Both are Mud tires. There are 28 models of 285/75. They are also cheaper than the 255's.

Lots of Tacoma guys like the 255s as well. But they are definitely hard to find. The Cooper Discovery ST MAXX I found was over $250 a tire. I think I'll stick to the KO2's for $130 in a 235 thanks.

I have Cooper Discoverer STT PRO in that size. I have a 2" lift and need 30mm spacers for my alloy wheels (33 offset) to run these tires (for rubbing issues and turning radius). They stick out a little bit from the wheelarches. They feel noticeably heavier than the 265/75/16 AT I was running before. I may swap the wheels for Wolf wheels that have less offset (20.6 mm) and do away with the spacers and tuck it in under the arches.

I would also consider the 255/85/16. After owning the 285/75/16, I think I prefer the taller profile and bigger diameter over the wider tire.
