Alternator wiring help

With the engine running. The wire off the alt is reading ac that does increase when I accelerate.

the power wire is reading 13.2v

the ground wire is grounded. And I ran a jumper cable off it as well to ensure it was grounded.

The gauge does not move at all.

so either the ac current is not strong enough. The gauge is dead. Or I have no idea what is going on.

As a follow up. Got a new gauge, all works according to plan now.

the one odd thing, if I start and let idle, the gauge doesn’t read, however if I even just bump the throttle once then it begins to read. Not sure if this is expected, or if there is a minimal voltage needed to “excite” the gauge.

anyhow it’s reading about 650 with switch 2 up and the others down.

Most likely not quite enough voltage to excite the alternator.
When you rev it alternator output starts and gauge reads.
