Alive Tuning Comfort springs

If you do nothing but replace your original A frame balljoint and front and rear radius arm bushings you will be MILES ahead. Your uncomfortable, tram lining and harsh driving is all fixable with normal maintenance. Good luck !

Maybe I am just contrarian, and like to do my thing, and Jimmy and others have way more experience than I do, but I have always thought NAS 90s have too heavy of rear springs for how most people use them because they have springs sufficient to support a full load in the back. No one drives a NAS 90 around like that (absent fat children or overlanding).

The NAS 110 (and county spec 110, and non EAS RRC) are better because they use the BOGE self leveling unit to maintain rear ride height under load.

So something like swapping to D1 rears makes sense to me or any other progressive rear spring like alive tuning.

Anyway, let us know what you think of the alive tuning springs.

My favorite set up was RRC rears in front (the 87/88 spec) and some progressive rears which I can’t remember what they were.

I need to ditch the OME HDs on my 90.

Yes I'm aware of all of that. Been owning and operating Landies for 39 years. Everything is original on my 90. Looking for feedback of making susp more compliant, smoother riding.
I have never driven a 90 with the springs you reference, so my post will be of no value on that point, sorry.

Just to confirm, when you say original are you saying your bushings have never been replaced? If that is the case, I can confirm what others have said -- you will get a smoother ride by replacing bushings all around with stock bushings. I just did this on a very low miles 1997 SW and it restored the Defender to an 'as new' ride. 28 year old bushings are about 20 years overdue for a change, regardless of mileage...

I have changed bushings on three different NAS 90's (94, 95, and 97) over the years and the ride quality transformation is dramatic. In your original post, you said you were "trying to figure out how to make your 94 ST smoother riding" -- have you changed out your bushings so we can eliminate that as a definite way for you to achieve your goal?
