Aftermarket Ac system r134 charge

I don't know the brand of Ac system, but I have an aftermarket Ac in my Rhd 300tdi that needs a r134 recharge. Anyone have an idea about how much a comparable 300tdi Ac system holds,

If of an unknown age, I'd replace the receiver dryer first,(the thing with the sight glass) its the filter for your a/c system.

If memory serves, most of these defender systems hold 2-2.2 lbs.

Must be a smaller system. Took about 1.2 and all numbers stabilized and cold air came out.

Whew.

Am working on fitting an elite unit to our RHD 110 2 door.
We got rid of the electronic controls and installed manual controls.
The electronic controls had failed.
Post up some pictures of your setup.
Can't wait to crank up the AC as it is in the 90s here with humidity also in the 90 percentile.

Just charged up my NostalgicAC install for the first time and it took 1.25 to get pressures to the right numbers.

Works well, no issues with the parts and customer service is great. It is a "universal" kit which means there will be some light fabrication to make it work. It looks decent, not stock though. All in was ~$1300 for parts, evac, and charge.

This is their UD-140 unit, the one that most of their LR customers purchase (per them).

They can make any unit fit a RHD, but instead of mirror-flipping the entire unit, they just move the blower assembly to the other side. The vents and controls still stay on the left side of the unit regardless of LHD or RHD configuration. It's not really an issue for me, just something to note if you explore this route further.

The wet spot on the floorboard is condensation from a fitting I neglected to insulate with the provided insulation tape. On the to-do this weekend...

I've seen a NostalgicAC on a Ford truck. Nice to see feedback about it here on the forum.

When it's really hot it's nice to point the AC vents right on you.
With the unit ending with your inside knee, how's the are flow for the driver.

Air flow is good-not-great for the RHD driver side. It does the job in keeping the cabin comfortable in Gulf Coast heat/humidity. I have the driver side vent pointed right at my face/chest and it keeps me plenty cool.

I looked up those Nostalgic AC units. Very tempting. Wonder what else I need to get it working.

Can one put a couple gauges on the blank area, left of the driver's side?

One could. There's about 2-1/8" of space 13-3/4" across, so the 2-1/16" VDO gauges would fit perfectly. Not sure how much driver side air flow would be restricted though.

Another note to note for anyone considering these: the way in which the units mount to the dash prevents the passenger window crank from cranking. It's a "feature" that keeps the cold air inside.
