Yep, that got it done. I found one in my neighbor's tools, short, and with a bend in it to get around the water pump.
Seems like the "new" module worked. At least it idled fine for 10 minutes, then we took a 1/2 hour drive without it dying. I didn't relocate it, but I did put a heat shield around it! Maybe it will last a bit longer? We'll see.
