I removed this from my '91 200tdi D90 because there was a small leak from what I believe to be the lower seal. I know there are some that swear by the transmission fluid leak fix method, and you could always rebuild the seals as well. FREE. Just pay shipping.

So I am in the middle of changing the timing belt on my 200tdi and the impeller on the water pump has blobs of rust on it. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I am putting in a new pump, but should I be concerned about the cause of this indicating a problem elsewhere? Thanks in advance.
