I do like the Disco3/4 platform, we just sold our 2012 HSE earlier this year. I don't think I'd go back to one though. I like straight axle rigs more and have a Ram 2500 set up as a family Truckster if I want functioning climate control, vented seats and smart cruise control. This is helpful...
Some great feedback. A couple of notes, I upgraded the axles to disk brakes about 4 years ago.. it's "ok" (used the forbyn bros kit) but really needs a better matched brake booster to complete that mod. I did use to have a couple of RRC's , a 93 and 94LWB Sable. Personally I could never get...
That's really interesting as I have a rebuilt p38 timing cover and ancilliaries currently sitting in my shop from a 4.6 Gems into D1 build I just finished.
What's great about a Series Land Rover is how quirky and manual they are. Unfortunately, if I want to keep this one, it needs to be a vehicle I can take the family on some fairly long trips. It's a real challenge to dampen and mute the noise and vibration from a Diesel, even with the softer...

Currently, I have a 200tdi mated to series gearbox , roamerdrive and series transfer case.

I have a little more info to add to this post to aid with future searches. I talked to CARB, Cummins and G&K today confirming everything already mentioned by Napalm. Surprisingly, G&K want my truck with its stock 2.5NA as opposed to an updated, cleaner engine. They will add a DPF filter and play...
update: found this online: https://www.arb.ca.gov/html/master_faqs/vehicle_faqs/greymarket_cars_faq.htm
Looks like the above guidance is absolutely correct. All grey market vehicles would have to pay the CARB lab "tax".
Just to expand on this thread as i may be shortly in the same boat...
I own a 1985 2.5NA 90 and live in Washington state. It's looking like I may need to move to CA for work, although I'll maintain my household in Washington.
The lack of CARB compliance for the R2.8 and my current engine...
