Great writeup. I did Baja over Christmas 2015. A real life changer it is, amazing country and people. Congrats! Highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Wonderful write up, thanks. At this stage in life I can't take any adventures but I sure like reading about them.

I love traveling to Mexico. Epic trip Carl. Congrats!

Change your oil, restock the fridge, gas up and go do another!

A great trip, and a great write-up.
One thing irks me, however...
I know people use "Baja" as a noun - it is super-common on Russian-language off-road sites as well, but... Baja is an adjective in Spanish, not a noun.
The place you went to is Baja California, as opposed to Alta California where we live.

Sure. Just being lazy. Technically I went to the two states of Baja Norte and Baja California Sur (BCS). For those who haven't been, there's actually a border crossing in order to get to BCS. Mostly for agricultural reasons.

A great trip, and a great write-up.
