Wiring heated Puma Seats

Here is my question...... Can I just wire up a relay and a switch and run the heat or do I need to step down the voltage or perform any other voodoo magic to make them work?

The aftermarket kit from RN has one relay to turn off the seats with the ignition. Other than that the switches just hook to the battery. They only have 5 amp fuses.

You mean without the 5a fuse or a relay?
That seems like a short/fire in the making....

I would just do your basic fuse-switch- relay combo attached to a 12v source that comes on with the ignition.

He said that you need a special harness or the heating element would be damaged. I can make a harness easily, I just want to be sure there isn't something special that needed to be added. Also anybody have a source for the needed electrical fitting as to not have to cut the seats factory harness?
