So, I cooked the original window ecu in my 95 Disco last Fall (after fixing the classic cracked solder joint the year before) and replaced it with a slightly newer one. The "newer" one, as in maybe a 1996 or 98 even thought the circuit board is stamped 1993, doesn't seem to allow the plug to engage easily into outlet C287. It goes in, but the rear windows only work if I firmly push the plug in. Even then, it only works for a few cycles or until I turn off the battery, then it's back to "no can do." Front windows are fine at all times.
I tested both c287 and c288 plugs on my old ecu, and the rear windows work perfectly with just pushing the plug in like normal. The fronts don't work as they're on the circuit I cooked.
Has anybody else had similar experiences when switching ecus? I'm at a bit of a loss since I thought maybe my plug was bad and replaced it, but I still get the same result. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
