Ive personally never run it but it $15 quart I can tell you that it's a rip-off. Even generic motor oil is so good these days, only true racing applications and break of a brand new engine really demands a specialty oil.

Save your money on oil, buy the spare parts you probably really need.

I use Castrol Syntec 0W40 in my personal Rovers. The most important thing is to have a xW40 weight or better. xW30 is not the correct weight for Rover V8s.

Be cautious of Rotella. It is a bulk diesel truck oil aimed at commercial operators who change 10 gallons of oil at a time, once a month (think value). The catchy brand name has earned it an undeserved following, in my opinion. Further reading available on bobistheoilguy.com for those inclined.

I would love for you to post some data to back that statement up, BITOG URL's would be good enough. All of the BITOG analysis I have read says it is very good oil. I am not saying there are not better oils out there (that cost a lot more, Motul), but to saying "be cautious" of it makes it sound like it is a bad oil, which is not true... at all. People use Rotella T6 in diesel trucks, tractors, regular cars, real race cars, racing bikes with great success for many many many year and thousands of miles. It is even rated for use in passenger cars (API-SM) and motorcycles (JASO-MA)

My commentary was regarding regular Rotella T 15W40, not the T6 synthetic 5W40.

However, for the price, my preference remains Castrol 0W40 (under $30 for a 5 qt jug).
