Kind of a dick move to order from Amazon versus direct. Amazon can take some pretty big fees and create a lot of hassle.

They were selling for a higher price on Amazon, so I assume their cut is the same both ways.

I apologize that you don't want to be educated on how Amazon works and how they are ruthless to small businesses like SHP. There's literally no reason to buy through Amazon when the vendor is a direct member of the forum here. Rude.

I apologize that you don't appreciate the convenience of ordering online and would rather cast me as an insensitive clod without regard for my fellow rover enthusiasts. Rude.

It was my calculation that, given the miniscule weight of the item referenced, the $7 surcharge was sufficient to pay the devil their cut, shipping and credit card transaction fees and net SHP a fair profit.

I'm not yet convinced that is incorrect.

The fact that you'd rather allow Amazon to skim the cost of getting this exact same item to your door at nearly the same cost is what you're missing from being part of a tight community. Support your small vendors, even if it costs slightly more. Sometimes it doesn't.

WTF is this? Sanctimony over where to buy stuff? Several places are selling on amazon to reach a bigger marker, some people want one-click ordering. Good grief, no need to couch this as a moral question.

If you can still order direct from SafariHP at $18.00 + shipping, or just want to pay $7.00 more to order through Amazon. It seems like a win win no matter which way you go. As long as the vendor still makes the same profit (that I don't know is true) - I'm just glad to have them available! :)
