The Bad:

  • The dash dim switch is lose in it's slot
  • The moon roofs leak, but it seems to be a new leak, some wet, but no mold or whatever.
  • Rear bumper is a bit tweaked somehow.
  • Cruise control will not hold on.
  • Seat adjustments are very iffy, may need rebuilt switches.
  • Not sure about set heaters.
  • Some sag in headliner.
  • Sun visors don't stay all the way up.
  • Missing one door latch plastic surround.
  • Missing rear door cargo pocket.
  • Rear moon roof will not operate.
  • The access door under the driver's seat for the electronics has a broken tab.
  • The trim piece covering the rear jump seat hinge is missing.
Good:

  • Runs very quietly, smooth, lots of power.
  • No Three Amigos
  • No dripping oil
  • No dash cracks
  • Front and rear air work
  • No cracks in wood trim or leather
  • No tears in seats.
  • No warning lights on.
  • All doors lock.
  • All windows work.
It's probably the cleanest, most complete DI I've seen in the last 5-10 years. A pretty good start for a kid learning to drive! (Yes, I've told him he needs to be nice to it!)

Only concern I have about it is the leaking mop roofs we are drying it out in the garage for a few days, then I will see if we can fix those things. ...somehow.

Congrats!
The cruise control problem is the vacuum lines for sure. After 160K mine where all cracked and once replaced it worked perfect, just in time to sell the truck.

Or the spiral cassette behind the steering wheel, or the control unit, all common culprits.

Yeah, I've had a couple of CC's that I've fixed by just cutting off the first 1/2 inch of that vacuum line, then reattaching. But I think this one might be something else. Have not had time to look into it.

We need to know how to best trouble shoot the leaks in the moon roofs. We pulled up the carpet and rubber, and there is no rust. Very clean underneath, but wet. So this is fairly recent, like it's been inside most of it's life. We are drying it all out now.

The rear moon roof has a bunch of clear calking around it. So I'm not sure if maybe that one is sorted.... er.... not leaking, at least. I think the guy I bought it from may have been the first to park it out side for some time, found that it was leaking, tried to caulk it on the rear.

The front is very clean under the glass, no water on the inside of the seal, but it is leaking someplace.

Any ideas? And where are the ends of the drain hoses located?

I hear Rose City Sunroof does good work, if you can't get things sorted out yourself

Yes, that name came up in an email thread from the Club.

We have the thing pretty much dried out. No rust, and very little dirt and such, so no mold. This coming week is supposed to be free of rain, so after we re-seal the rear, and at least attempt to find the leak on the front. I will pull it out and run a hose over it to see about detecting leaks. If I'm unable to keep it from leaking, I'll just seal them up for now, and take it to the sunroof place later.
