Rogue resistance

Left rear and side blinkers don?t flash. However my relay flashes at a normal speed, so it thinks (I assume) it?s encountering the correct amount of resistance. But the bulbs don?t flash (visual inspection says they?re good), so am I deducing correctly that something else is causing this resistance? Or is it possible for the relay to be busted and keep flashing at the normal rate?

Probably a bad ground at the rear blinker. You can use a meter to test the ground connection and the continuity on the positive side

Probably. what happens is they ground out through other lights and you can't see them flash.

You have to be careful with the meter test as the ground goes out through the other lights and you may think it is okay. There should be local ground points to the body on both sides. Make sure they are good and the bullet connectors to the lights are good.

Thanks for the tips. In typical rover fashion, the issue has inexplicably rectified itself. I will try the tests above when the issue resumes.

Do yourself a favor if you still have glass fuses. Rotate them in the sockets, it helped me with some odd corrosion I had in one causing a seemingly bad circut

And don't be afraid to clean them off - a little steel wool twist on the tips of the fuses (outside of the panel and battery disconnected unless you are looking to burn things down) - some aerosol electrical cleaner can aid in loosening corrosive and insulative buildup as well
