Raising garage

My wife said "why not lower the truck?" ... I said "why not raise the garage?"

Up goes the garage.

And that's an amazing looking truck. You need to post more pics of it sitting in pretty places.

How high did you go? I'm thinking 8'6" for mine.

I also ordered a Smart Things door closer and sensor so it will magically open as I approach.

My garage opening is 8' and my 2' lifted truck with a propane tank on top clears it with ease. Don't forget that rolling doors come in standard heights so an odd height would trigger an added expense for a custom sized door.

Lifted the carport in my old house to fit the truck (Who the hell builds a carport that is just over 6'??) Lifted the whole roof on jackable scaffolding, then installed new posts.

Enclosed it all later, then ripped it down along with the house and built it all new (9' opening) .... then sold that.

Currently renovating the new place, and built in an 8' opening....

Same. I am going from a 7 foot opening to an 8 foot. Could have gone higher but wanted to save some room above for storage and such.

The 9' opening and 10' ceiling was great. Easily fit the D90 or the G4 Disco with the roof rack and tent.

Only thing I would have changed was to make it a little longer, if the bike was on the back there wasn't a lot of room behind the truck to get around once a work bench went infront of the parking spot.
