R380 Oil Preference?

I'm going to do a complete fluid swap on my truck in the next week or so. What oil are you guys running in your R380 trans? I have read a bunch of differing posts all over the web and would like to hear your experiences both good and bad.

Redline mtl or royal purple synchromax

I prefer mtl

I run Amsoil MTF. Never had a problem with it in R-380s or LT-77s

I put Redline in mine and it did seem to make things just a tiny bit smoother on shifting. It isn't a miracle drug, but just a bit like greasing the moving parts when they had been dry. (Not that there wasn't fluid in it!)

Amsoil MTF 94 equivalent.

MTL / MTF from a reputable Mfr. - Redline is what we use in the shop

We use Redline MTL here, but they are widely available and made nearby.

Anything MTF 94 otherwise. Dexron III ATF in an emergency.

Ill 4th or 5th Redline MTL. I swapped all of the fluid on my NAS 90 when I bought it and the Redline smoothed it out nicely.

Recently got 4 quarts for $50 some odd on amazon prime
