Hello,

We are a workshop in Belgium and are currently building 2 (LHD) NAS V8 Defenders. 1x Defender 90 and 1x Defender with 6x6 system.

To complete the engine bay as it should in these 2 vehicles, we are missing some parts for both ;

air filter box ; PHB102560 (I think same model as a 3.9 discovery/range rover NTC4408)
bracket for air filter box ; PHU102790
tube from engine to air filter box; PHH100290

Who can help us out with this ?

Thanks

The airfilter box is different than the range rover classic, it can be made to work but the brackets are different and the outlet elbow needs to be cut and welded on straight. If you are going to run 4.0 gems you will also need to add a bung before the maf
for the intake air temp sensor.
the original hose has long been obsolete but silicone versions are now available.https://www.seriesdefender.com/all-products/land-rover-defender-nas-v8-plenum-hose.html

The classic filter housing can be made to work with some fabrication.

I understand Douglas, and indeed I know about the intake air temp sensor...

But I need something to work with.... at this stage we have nothing... So we are happy to do some fabrication on the air boxes
So I hope somebody knows where to find these items.

thanks your help

I looked for a PHU102790 unsuccessfully for more than 10 years before I gave up and had one made. I was able to get with a generous enthusiast (when I lived in Belgium actually) and I made templates from a 50th LE D90.

The first pic is the original, the others are my copy installed. NAS vehicles all had the air cleaner brackets attached to the bulkhead. I always thought the 50th LE version was cleaner and easier to work with.

Lucky. I had to do mine from picture and assumptions.

Since its not really a NAS or a 50th maybe use whatever you want? The NAS style air cleaner is under sized IMO.

If you do repro all this stuff and its a RHD, the mantec style intake hose fits much better than ridgid hose.

1. rrc air filter at an angle
2. rrc air cleaner hacked up getting ready to make it look like a NAS air cleaner
3. 4.0 efi vs 3.5 carb air filter comparison
4. air cleaner bracket I just did for a tomcat loosly based on the 50LE defender air bracket to put a larger 300tdi cleaner on it.

The part that spot welds on the bulkhead to hold the air cleaner is really simple. I have one in my kitchen.
