leather retaining strap on middle seat 110

Hey guys. I see that the leather straps are missing from the middle seat retaining bar. The empty hole which attaches the missing leather strap is not threaded. So I wonder how the leather strap is held in place. I have the leather, but not sure now to attach it. It can't be a bolt and nut because the nut would bump into the seat back when the retaining bar rotates.

I don't know about any leather straps. Mine had two steel flat bars on each side - Like the diagram from the parts catalog pic shows. I removed one on each side (#5 in the diagram) to clear the Safety Devices internal cage. Kept the one on each side that secures the seat back & can be released by loosening the locking screw (#6, with the notch). Tomorrow I'll post pics of my set up & the supports I removed.

I figured it out. I knew about the letter straps from my 109 bench seat. I saw the metal tabs/posts as shown in the photos attached to the bench seat, The leather straps fasten to these. Same as do series leather retaining straps on the front seats. I just used a flat head beveled bolt with a nut to hold the leather straps in place on the flat bar. Done.
